Meghan Markle, Prince Harry planning home birth for second child - Fox News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's second child will be born at home, according to reports.

The Sussexes are expecting in early summer, and the baby girl will be the first-ever royal to be born in America.

Markle, 39, and Harry, 36, bought their $14.5 million Montecito estate last year after moving to California.

The gender reveal occurred during the couple's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they detailed their reasons for leaving royal life behind.

Harry said: "A girl, you know, what more can you ask for? But now, you know, now we’ve got our family. We’ve got, you know, the four of us and our two dogs, and it’s great."

During the tell-all, the two made several serious allegations against the royal family and the Institution at large, including accusations of racism and turning a blind eye to Markle's mental health needs.

They also discussed the media's presence in their life, reporting on their every move and the criticism of Markle's actions, which led to, in part, her suicidal thoughts.

Markle confessed she had no clue what her royal marriage would bring into her life, saying: "there was no way to understand what the day-to-day was going to be like.

"That’s what was really tricky over those past few years, is when the perception and the reality are two very different things," Markle said. "And you’re being judged on the perception, but you’re living the reality of it."

Britney Spears Says New York Times Documentary Made Her Cry - Deadline

The latest person to speak out about the Framing Britney Spears documentary from the New York Times that debuted on FX and Hulu last month is…Britney Spears herself.

“I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in,” wrote Spears in a Tuesday evening Instagram post. “I cried for two weeks and well….I still cry sometimes!!!!”

The documentary has sparked a rolling social media conversation about the singer’s treatment by the media and by other celebrities. It comes amid an ongoing legal case between Spears and her father in which the singer seeks to regain control of her finances.

Justin Timberlake, who famously dated Spears in the late 1990s and early 2000s, responded to the backlash he received after the piece aired with his own lengthy social media post.

Timberlake wrote in part, “I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right.”

He went on: “I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed.”

Twitter users praised Craig Ferguson for publicly refusing to shame the troubled Spears back in the day.

There has also been renewed scrutiny of the media’s treatment of Spears. After Framing Britney Spears aired, users began reposting an interview Diane Sawyer did with a 21-year-old Spears and calling on Sawyer to apologize. Part of that interview is featured in the documentary.

Spears does not seem to want the attention, even if it’s sympathetic. “My life has always been very speculated…I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media…and I still am till this day!!!” she wrote on Instagram.

K-pop stars BTS share racial discrimination they faced - CNN

"We recall moments when we faced discrimination as Asians. We have endured expletives without reason and were mocked for the way we look. We were even asked why Asians spoke in English," said the band in a statement posted on Twitter Tuesday.
"We cannot put into words the pain of becoming the subject of hatred and violence for such a reason."
Anti-Asian attacks have increased dramatically across the United States during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A study by the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino, shows that anti-Asian hate crimes in 16 of America's largest cities increased 149% in 2020.
The group Stop AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) Hate says it received more than 500 anti-Asian hate incident reports in the first two months of 2021.

Six Asian women were among the eight victims who lost their lives in shootings at three Atlanta-area spas on March 16.
In San Francisco, police have increased patrols in predominantly Asian neighborhoods following "an alarming spike in brazen anti-Asian violence," the department said.
BTS addressed the victims of violence in their statement.
"We send our deepest condolence to those who have lost their loved ones. We feel grief and anger," wrote the group.
"Our own experiences are inconsequential compared to the events that have occurred over the past few weeks. But these experiences were enough to make us feel powerless and chip away our self-esteem."
BTS said they had carefully considered how to respond to the situation, but now the message is clear.
"We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence," reads the statement. "You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together."
In June 2020 the group made a $1 million donation to Black Lives Matter, and later explained their decision in an interview with Variety magazine.
"When we're abroad or in other situations, we've also been subjected to prejudice. We feel that prejudice should not be tolerated; it really has no place," band member Jin told the magazine.

Nike sues over Lil Nas X "Satan Shoes," alleging trademark infringement - CBS News

Nike filed a lawsuit on Monday against the company selling Lil Nas X's "Satan Shoes," arguing the swoosh on the controversial shoe violates its trademark and damages its brand. The lawsuit comes the same day as the release of the shoes, which feature a bronze pentagram, the number "666" and a small amount of human blood.

The shoes, a collaboration between Lil Nas X and the New York-based art collective MSCHF, are modified versions of Nike Air Max 97s — and the brand's signature "SWOOSH" is featured prominently on the side of the shoe and on its tongue. The shoes, which sold out in minutes, cost $1,018 — a reference to the Bible passage Luke 10:18, which reads "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."

The shoes' satanic imagery drew strong reactions online — including from South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who shared an image of the shoes alongside a warning that "we are in a fight for the soul of our nation."

Nike referenced that controversy in its lawsuit, which asks the court to force MSCHF to stop producing the shoes and to award monetary damages for the financial harm the company has suffered.

The company argued the shoes are "likely to cause confusion and dilution and create an erroneous association between MSCHF's products and Nike," alleging that there's "already evidence of significant confusion and dilution occurring in the marketplace, including calls to boycott Nike in response to the launch of MSCHF's Satan Shoes based on the mistaken belief that Nike has authorized or approved this product."

Nike
MSCHF said each shoe contains two fluid ounces of red ink and "one drop" of human blood in the sole. MSCHF

"As a direct and proximate result of MSCHF's wrongful acts, Nike has suffered, continues to suffer, and/or is likely to suffer damage to its trademarks, business reputation, and goodwill that money cannot compensate," the lawsuit added. "Unless enjoined, MSCHF will continue to use Nike's Asserted Marks and/or confusingly similar marks and will cause irreparable damage to Nike for which Nike has no adequate remedy at law."

MSCHF did not immediately respond to CBS News' request for comment on the lawsuit, though it previously said, "We expected the backlash, and we're all for it."

This isn't the first time MSCHF has released modified Nikes. In 2019, the company dropped "Jesus Shoes," a pair of Air Max 97s modified with holy water and a golden crucifix. The release of the Satan Shoes is tied to Lil Nas X's new song "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)."

Lil Nas X addressed the lawsuit on Twitter, posting a "SpongeBob SquarePants" meme of a character begging for money with the caption "me after the nike lawsuit." The artist is not named as a defendant in the suit.

Sophie Lewis contributed reporting.
