Kate Middleton is being compared to Cinderella after showcasing a glamorous look for her and Prince William's final leg of their royal tour of the Caribbean.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a reception hosted by the Governor General on Friday at the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

Kate turned heads for a gorgeous satin turquoise gown, which she accessorized with long earrings and a necklace featuring matching jewels.

William also dressed up for the occasion in a blue velvet tux.

People magazine notes that Kate's gown was designed by Phillipa Lepley. The color paid tribute to the Bahamas' flag. Many online weighed in on the duchess' stunning ensemble, declaring that she was giving off Cinderella vibes.

Friday's occasion was hosted by the Governor-General of the Bahamas, Sir Cornelius Alvin Smith.

Kate and William touched down in the Bahama on Thursday for the final leg of their Caribbean tour and were welcomed by 8-year-old Aniah Moss. The young local presented the British royals with a bouquet of flowers. Middleton, 40, paid tribute to the colors of the country’s flag by wearing a fitted aquamarine dress by Emilia Wickstead.

"[Kate] said I had a nice dress and I was beautiful and thank you for the flowers," Moss, who wore a special floral dress with white gloves for the occasion, told People magazine. "I think they’re very tall!"

According to the outlet, the royal couple had busy schedules for the final leg of the tour. The pair were expected to participate in The Bahamas Platinum Jubilee Sailing Regatta in Nassau, meet one of the winners from William’s Earthshot Prize, learn new ideas about how reefs are being preserved and restored, as well as see how the people in Abaco coped with the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian in 2019.

Despite the warm welcomes from many locals, the royal tour has been faced with controversy. During the couple’s visit to Jamaica, protesters gathered wearing T-shirts emblazoned with a pair of shackled Black wrists surrounded by the phrases "Seh Yuh Sorry!" and "Apologize now!"

The protest in front of the British High Commission in Kingston came a couple of days after dozens of prominent leaders in Jamaica publicized a letter demanding that Britain apologize and award its former colony slavery reparations.

They also decried the week-long Central American and Caribbean tour that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge embarked on Saturday, which coincides with Jamaica’s 60th independence anniversary and the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

"Kings, Queens and Princesses and Princes belong in fairytales, NOT in Jamaica!" read one poster held aloft by a young girl who joined the protest.

The royal couple’s trip, which began with a stop in Belize followed by scheduled visits to Jamaica and the Bahamas, was organized at the queen’s behest as some countries debate cutting ties to the monarchy like Barbados did in November.

The British empire controlled Jamaica for more than 300 years and forced hundreds of thousands of African slaves to toil the island under brutal conditions. Sugar replaced tobacco and cocoa as the main crop, with some 430 sugar estates reported by the mid-1700s, up from 57 nearly a century prior, according to Jamaica Information Services, a government agency.

The group protesting the royal visit noted in its letter that the British raped and killed thousands of slaves as it sought an apology for 60 reasons, including "for refusing to acknowledge the historic trade in Africans as a crime against humanity," and for "pretending that the British led the abolition movement, when our ancestors worked, prayed and fought hard for this."

Ahead of their trip, Jamaican singer Beenie Man told the TV show "Good Morning Britain" that the U.K. still controls the commonwealth of Jamaica. "It’s all about the queen, and the queen serves and the queen this and that – but what are they doing for Jamaica?" he said. "They’re not doing anything for us."

The monarchy has said that Britain and Jamaica have a strong trade relationship, with the island exporting goods including rum and raw cane sugar to the U.K. It also noted the creation of programs targeting poverty, security, natural disaster management, social issues and the economy.

Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness told the couple on Wednesday that the British commonwealth intends to become fully independent in an unexpected announcement that comes as other countries consider cutting ties with the monarchy.

Holness also noted that there are "unresolved" issues as he greeted the pair in front of a media scrum.

"We are moving on," he said. "We intend to... fulfill our true ambitions and destiny as an independent, developed, prosperous country."

The couple's trip to Belize also suffered a hitch when a planned visit to a cacao farm in Belize was scrapped because of local opposition.

According to local reports, a protest was staged opposing the royal visit to Akte ’il Ha cacao farm in Indian Creek village in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. Belize news outlet Channel 7 reported that there is a dispute between village residents and Flora and Fauna International, a conservation charity William, 39, supports as a patron.

A spokesperson from Kensington Palace told Fox News Digital that "due to sensitive issues involving the community in Indian Creek, the visit has been moved to a different location."

The government of Belize said, "another venue has been selected to showcase Maya family entrepreneurship in the cacao industry."

William is second in line to the throne after his father, Prince Charles. The trip is intended to strengthen the U.K.’s ties with Commonwealth countries as Queen Elizabeth II, William's grandmother, marks 70 years on the throne.

2022 Oscars preview: The awards show is back but it 'won't be a traditional Oscars' - Yahoo Finance

The Oscars are back. The 94th Academy Awards will see streaming breakouts like "The Power of the Dog" take on theatrical exclusives like "West Side Story" and hybrid releases like Warner Bros.' "Dune" and "King Richard" (T).

Studios' mixed distribution models, heightened by the pandemic, could somewhat complicate the pure- play streaming vs. theatrical battle as most of this year's highly anticipated films leaned into a hybrid release strategy.

"We're still in a very unusual Oscar marketplace," Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, told Yahoo Finance during a recent interview.

"It just doesn't seem like the pre-pandemic era yet," the analyst continued, stressing the link between the Oscars and the overall movie theater experience.

"Until the theatrical experience is fully back — and we're in the middle of that recovery now — both in terms of the box office, and the perception of the industry, it won't be a traditional Oscars," Dergarabedian surmised.

He added that the "cultural impact is exponentially greater for a film that plays in the movie theater," citing the box office bump that tends to happen with both wins and nominations.

Streamers lose Oscars' momentum, but still 'greater acceptance'

Although last year saw streaming studios surge in nominations, this year saw a bit of a dip.

Netflix (NFLX) will walk into this year's award show with 27 nods (led by "Power of the Dog," which is a favorite to win best picture); however, that is down from 2021's 35 nominations.

Amazon Prime Video (AMZN) also slumped to just 3 nods this year (led by "Being the Ricardos"), compared to last year's 12.

Meanwhile, Apple TV+ (AAPL) scored its first best picture nod with "Coda" and jumped to 6 total nominations, up from last year's 2. Hulu (DIS) stayed on pace with just 1 nomination.

"One of the biggest things that came out of the pandemic, in terms of the movie industry, is that the streamers now have an opportunity to have their movies represented," Comscore's Dergarabedian said.

"The pandemic changed so many things, including what movies could qualify for an Oscar and the parameters and protocols surrounding that. Hollywood is still operating in that environment and there's now a greater acceptance of those films that come from streamers," he continued.

Snubs this year included the cast of Ridley Scott's "House of Gucci" and Jennifer Hudson, who played Aretha Franklin in the film "Respect."

Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was also left out of the best picture category, despite its sky-high box office success with more than $1 billion in global ticket sales.

The road to 'normal'

Unlike last year's slimmed down, pandemic-era event (which took place inside Los Angeles' Union Station), 2022 will see the triumphant return of the Dolby Theater with a full red carpet pre-show prior to the ceremony.

Comscore's Dergarabedian cited the importance of an in-person award show as opposed to a hybrid or virtual one, explaining that "the cultural resonance that the Oscars has is not only based around the movies, but also the telecast and the event itself."

"We're still on that road to a more 'normal' season," the analyst noted.

The event, which has remained host-less since 2018, will also feature a female-led trio of Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes. The last trio to host was Chevy Chase, Paul Hogan and Goldie Hawn in 1987.

Another change this year is the elimination of eight award categories from the live telecast, including original score, film editing, production design, sound, makeup and hairstyling, and the three short film awards for documentary, live-action and animated short.

"When deciding how to produce the Oscars, we recognize it's a live event television show and we must prioritize the television audience to increase viewer engagement and keep the show vital, kinetic, and relevant," Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences President David Rubin said in a previous letter.

Relevancy has certainly been a consistent problem for the Oscars, which has struggled to attract interest from the broader public.

"This is not your great grandparents' Oscar show..."Paul Dergarabedian, Comscore Senior Media Analyst

According to Nielsen, last year's Academy Awards slumped a whopping 58.3% (13.75 million) compared to 2020 with just 9.85 million viewers tuning in — a new record low. Prior to that, 2020's show saw 23.6 million viewers tune in, a 20% drop from 2019 levels, and about 3 million less than 2018's previous low.

"It just shows you how difficult it is to hit the 'perfect note,' in terms of how you present it... and it's evolving. This is not your great grandparents' Oscar show, and the movies that are represented are not the same as they were," Dergarabedian said.

Still, the decision to slim down the show and eliminate certain categories, albeit for the sake of time, created an uproar throughout Hollywood.

Artist union IATSE released the following statement with group president Matthew Loeb writing, in part, "By the nature of our jobs, behind the scenes workers get little recognition as is, despite being the backbone of every production...We believe a deviation for some crafts and categories but not others, is detrimental to this fundamental purpose."

"Our position remains that the awards should put all the positions that make pictures possible on equal footing. If the winners walk away with the same trophy, then the winners deserve the same recognition. I urge the Academy to reconsider," Loeb continued.

The 94th Academy Awards will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 27.

Below Deck Med's Hannah Ferrier Is Married: Go Inside Her Beach Wedding to Josh Roberts - E! NEWS

Hannah was unceremoniously dismissed from Below Deck Med after season five, but she quickly set sail on a new adventure: motherhood. She and Josh welcomed Ava in 2020, shortly after they celebrated their two-year anniversary.

Now, Ava is nearly two years old herself. "She's just started speaking, which is so cute," Hannah said, revealing that her first word was "bubbles."

But being the parent of a young daughter while planning a wedding (and running the Ocean International Training Academy!) isn't easy. Hannah described her days as "hectic," adding, "We had, basically, a disaster wedding planner who took on our wedding and then did nothing for six weeks. So this whole wedding has been planned in the last four weeks."

Yes, four weeks. Hannah noted that Josh initially wanted to "scale it all back," but she didn't want to give up on her dream wedding. Luckily, she quickly found a new planner and together, their "sheer determination" started making things happen.

The reception was ultimately held at Hannah and Josh's home. Some of her former Below Deck Med co-stars were in attendance, including Anastasia Surmava, who recently got engaged herself.

Meghan's £18 million Spotify deal FINALLY gets off the ground - Daily Mail

Meghan reveals her new Spotify podcast called 'Archetypes' that will 'dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back' as £18m deal finally gets off the ground

  • Meghan will speak to historians, experts and woman about being typecast
  • Duchess of Sussex vows to investigate 'labels that try to hold women back'
  • Meghan and Harry signed lucrative deal with Spotify with £18m in late 2020
  • They only released one show before today - a holiday special featuring Archie

The Duchess of Sussex has unveiled her first Spotify series - a podcast about female stereotypes in which she vows to investigate 'labels that try to hold women back'.

'Archetypes' will launch this summer and is hosted by Meghan Markle who will speak to historians, experts and woman who have experienced being typecast.

A trailer of the Archewell Audio project was released today, as Prince Harry's brother Prince William and wife Kate Middleton continue their tour of the Caribbean.

In the new trailer, Meghan said: 'This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us. But where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?'

The duchess, previewing the type of guests who will feature, adds: 'This is Archetypes - the podcast where we dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back.

'I'll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives.

What does Meghan say in the Spotify trailer?

'This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us... but where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?

'I'm Meghan and this is Archetypes - the podcast where we dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back. I'll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I'll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.

'Archetypes – coming soon. Listen only on Spotify.'

'And I'll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.'

The announcement of Archewell Audio's debut podcast series with Spotify comes after Meghan and the Duke of Sussex raised concerns about Covid-19 misinformation on the platform.

Meghan and Harry signed a lucrative deal with the audio streaming giant to host and produce podcasts, estimated to be worth around £18million, in late 2020.

But they had only released one show so far - a holiday special featuring their son Archie and celebrity guests.

Spotify and Archewell Audio said today: 'Spotify and Archewell Audio both value responsible stewardship of the audio landscape, and as explained recently, are committed to working closely to support transparency and strong principles of trust and safety.'

In January, Neil Young reportedly offered Spotify an ultimatum to remove either his work or The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which has been known to air vaccine-sceptical views.

When the singer later left the streaming platform, Joni Mitchell announced the same move 'in solidarity' with his decision.

At the time, the Sussexes' charitable foundation said they had been expressing concerns but the couple were committed to continuing their work with the organisation.

The announcement this afternoon marks Archewell Audio's debut podcast series with Spotify

Last week, a spokesman for Archewell Audio confirmed its first series would air in the summer and that they had been working closely with Spotify towards policies aimed at minimising the spread of misinformation.

'Archetype': What is the dictionary definition?

  • Cambridge: 'Typical of an original thing from which others are copied.'
  • Oxford: 'The most typical or perfect example of a particular kind of person or thing.'
  • Merriam-Webster: 'The original pattern or model of which all things of the same type are representations or copies.'

Meghan has long been a campaigner on female empowerment.

Spotify and Archewell Audio described her conversations with typecast women as 'uncensored' and said the duchess would delve into the origins of stereotypes.

Former Suits actress Meghan is also an executive producer on the series, along with Ben Browning, Archewell's head of content, and Rebecca Sananes, Archewell's head of audio.

The podcast will be produced by Archewell Audio in partnership with Gimlet Media for Spotify.

Separately today, a High Court judge ruled that parts of some documents in Harry's claim against the Home Office will be kept secret, as he criticised the Duke's legal team for an 'entirely unacceptable' breach of court rules.

Harry is bringing a claim against the department after being told he would no longer be given the 'same degree' of personal protective security when visiting from the US, despite offering to pay for it himself.

The Duke wants to bring his children to visit from the US, but he and his family are 'unable to return to his home' because it is too dangerous, a representative previously said.

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum Met in Principal’s Office After Their Daughters Started “Butting Heads" - E! NEWS

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum to the principal's office, please!

During a March 23 appearance on The Late Late Show, the Lost City co-stars revealed that they first met in the principal's office of their daughters' preschool.

When host James Corden inquired about what took place, Channing said, "We have two very, very strong-willed little girls, you know, that at that young age were very much buttin' heads."

Sandra—mom to son Louis, 12, and daughter Laila, 10—shared that one day after another "altercation," she wondered if she needed to contact the Magic Mike actor or his ex-wife Jenna Dewan about the continuing issues between her daughter and their daughter, Everly, 8.

However, the principal said that they would give the girls a "challenge" to see who could be the nicest to the other person.
As part of one of their tasks, the Unforgivable star said the two girls were "bringing each other little Dixie cups of water."
