It’s already that time again when Barack Obama tells the world all the songs, books, television shows, and movies he loved the most this year. As 2020 comes to an end, the former president has been sharing the annual lists of his favorite books, movies, and songs. In the list for his favorite songs from the past 12 months, he named some hits from Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, J. Cole, Jhene Aiko, and more stars, that he chose with the help of his youngest daughter, Sasha Obama.
Obama shared the list on social media on Saturday (Dec. 19) and listed the tracks he has had on heavy rotation. “Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together,” he shared. “I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”
Among some of the songs the former president shared were “Savage (Remix)” by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé, “Franchise” by Travis Scott, The Bigger Picture by Lil Baby, “The Climb Back” by J. Cole, “Damage” by H.E.R., “Essence” by WizKid, and “La Dificil” by Bad Bunny. He also included “Blue World” by Mac Miller, “Mecca” by Spillage Village, “Sun Came Out” by Gunna and “Cut Em In” by Anderson .Paak featuring Rick Ross.
Like everyone else, we were stuck inside a lot this year, and with streaming further blurring the lines between theatrical movies and television features, I’ve expanded the list to include visual storytelling that I’ve enjoyed this year, regardless of format. pic.twitter.com/a8BS8jDkSs

Earlier this week, he also shared his favorite movies and television shows of 2020. “Like everyone else, we were stuck inside a lot this year, and with streaming further blurring the lines between theatrical movies and television features, I’ve expanded the list to include visual storytelling that I’ve enjoyed this year, regardless of format,” the former president wrote.
He included movies like Soul, Lovers Rock and Selah and the Spades, and others. Among his favorite TV shows, he listed “I May Destroy You,” “The Good Place,” “The Boys,” “Better Call Saul” and more. The 44th president has made it a tradition to share the year-end lists of his favorite things since he was in the White House, showcasing just how much he is in tune with pop culture.
