'It was all totally unexpected and hectic, but ultimately really exciting and fun,' he said. 'I thought I was going out of the country to shoot this season, but then we went on lockdown and quarantine and in the end there was not one but two proposals!'

He worked with 36-year-old Clark before the Final Rose ceremony.

'Zac's a really nice guy and he's smitten with her and talked about her kindness, poise, and her honesty... Like Tayshia, he'd been married before, and he was really thoughtful about her and honest about respecting their individual journeys,' he said.

'He was certain, nervous and excited all at the same time.'

The ring is a showstopper.

'It's classic, bright and very, very elegant,' said Lane.

'The emerald cut is a very elegant shape, a classic, very 1920s, vintage and high-style, and he said, 'That's it, she's elegant'... He loved the simple elegance.'

Neil is happy for the couple.

'She's quite sweet, direct and sincere,' he told the site. 'It wasn't easy to come on the show but she found her guy. This was a giant step for both of them, but they both seem open and she seemed ready to embark on this new journey. I wish them great happiness!'

The former phlebotomist and addiction specialist Zac got engaged after she sent home runner-up Ben Smith, 30, before the final rose ceremony.

Mid-season replacement Tayshia and Zac showed instant chemistry after she stepped in for Clare Crawley, 39, who left season 16 early after falling in love and getting engaged to Dale Moss, 32.

Zac during the two-hour finale met Tayshia's parents Desmond and Rosario as well as her brothers Desmond Jr and Tice.

Tayshia earlier in the episode allowed Ben back in after previously denying him a rose and eliminated Ivan Hall, 28, for religious reasons.

Ivan was dismissed after their Fantasy Suite experience as Tayshia during the three-man rose ceremony asked to speak with him privately.

'This past week, we've talked about some important subjects. ...There are some things that kind of posed concern,' Tayshia said.

Tayshia then resumed the rose ceremony and offered red flowers to Zac and Ben who eagerly accepted them along with invitations to meet her family.

Tayshia was supposed to go on her final date with Ben, but realized her heart was with Zac and sent him home.

Neil Lane then met up with Zac to go over engagement rings and he decided on an emerald cut diamond.

Tayshia held hands with Zac as she declared her love for him.

'It's this wild, wild love that I have tried to come up with so many reasons to not believe. And you have truly just made me believe that there doesn't need to be flaws and that I deserve a love with a man that won't run away. And I'm truly looking at my heart, and, yes, it is real, and I feel it too,' Tayshia said.

Tayshia said she was ready to start a life with him and would do 'absolutely anything' to keep the smile on his face.

Zac got emotional as he told Tayshia that his parents noticed the smile on his face that he hasn't had for years.

'I can't picture another day, another moment without you in my life. And if you'll let me, I'm gonna choose you right now, I'm gonna choose you tomorrow morning, I'm gonna choose you next week and next year. I'm gonna choose you forever,' Zac said as Tayshia started crying.

'Cause I love you,' Zac said as he dropped to a knee and opened the Neil Lane ring box.

'Marry me?' he asked.

'Yes! Yes, yes, yes!,' Tayshia replied.

Zac slipped the ring on Tayshia's trembling hand as they kissed.

'We did it! Me and you. We did it,' Tayshia said.
