The Mandalorian season 2, episode 8 spoilers follow.
The Mandalorian's season 2 finale has left Star Wars fans with a lot of questions about the future of the show, but at least one answer has now been provided by Pedro Pascal's stunt double.
Titled 'The Rescue', Chapter 16 of the Disney+ series saw Din Djarin (Pascal) and Baby Yoda Grogu finally go their separate ways as a digitally de-aged Luke Skywalker came to their rescue, before taking the Force-wielding muppet away for some Jedi training.
Fans were naturally left heartbroken as a helmetless Din teared up over Grogu's departure, with some believing that this could actually be the end of the Mandalorian's journey, too.
This idea may perhaps have been fuelled further by the finale's post-credit sequence, which some have taken as indication that the show will now shift focus to Boba Fett.
However, that theory may be a little hasty, as Pascal's stunt double Brendan Wayne has now confirmed the actor will return to the role.
"No spoilers!!! But just in case the world didn't know yet Pedro Pascal is incredible," Brendan wrote in an Instagram post. "The journey they wrote for him this season was so beautiful. The fact that Pedro went beyond the page and made this epic. Thank you Pedro Pascal."
He added: "Yes!! Pedro is coming back. There was never any question. DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ."

The stuntman didn't specify the capacity in which Pedro will return to the role, or if he'll still be the main character, but since there are still plenty of loose ends to tie up – Moff Gideon is still alive, Bo-Katan presumably still wants her Dark Saber back, and we never really got a resolution to the whole cloning thing – it seems rather rash to assume he won't be front and centre when the show returns in December 2021.
The Mandalorian seasons one and two are now streaming on Disney+.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+, while Rise of Skywalker is also on Sky Cinema Premiere and NOW TV.
