Happy Days alum Anson Williams announces he's running for Mayor of Ojai... and he has Fonzie's vote!
Happy Days alum Anson Williams announced he's running for Mayor of Ojai during the June 28 Ojai City Council meeting.
The LA-born, Ojai-based 72-year-old - who's brand new to politics - said the California coastal city needs 'leadership that inspires a collaborative team.'
Anson - who's a Unitarian Democrat - will have to go head-to-head against the current Mayor Betsy Stix during the campaign.
On Wednesday, Williams revealed on Facebook that he is pro-choice when he publicly blasted the Supreme Court for removing Constitutional rights for his 'daughters and their mothers.'
The 'separated' Golden Globe nominee is clearly back together with his second wife Jackie Gerken after filing for divorce from her twice in 2019 and 2020.
Anson - who frequently posts shirtless snaps of himself - was born Anson Heimlich as his late uncle was Dr. Henry Heimlich, the inventor of the Heimlich maneuver for treating choking victims.
Williams has already scored at least one vote... from his Happy Days castmate Henry Winkler, who tweeted his endorsement on Tuesday.
The colon cancer survivor first found fame portraying Warren 'Potsie' Weber in ABC variety show Love, American Style followed by all 11 seasons of CBS sitcom Happy Days spanning 1974-1984.
Anson reprised the role of the gullible 'square' singer in guest spots on Laverne & Shirley, Joanie Loves Chachi, Mork & Mindy, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Williams' last acting gig was guest starring as Clayton in a 2016 episode of CBS sitcom The Odd Couple starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon.
