Wonder Woman 1984 unveils brand new poster ahead of release - digitalspy.com

Wonder Woman 1984 has, after much back and forth, had its release date locked in, dropping on HBO Max and in the US on December 25. In the UK, it is planned to release only in cinemas on December 16, if it is safe to do so.

With those release dates taking place in just a few weeks, a new poster has been unveiled to promote the film, showing Gal Gadot's Diana Prince wearing the armour we've seen before, but now she's adopting a 'ready to strike' pose, with her Lasso of Truth in hand.

We really rather like it.

Director Patty Jenkins made the announcement about the film's move to HBO Max in the US, tweeting:

"The Time has come. At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give, over everything else. We love our movie as we love our fans, so we truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season."

According to Variety, there are talks about a deal that could see the DC sequel given a Premium Video-on-Demand release in the UK through Sky Store a month after its cinema debut.

The superhero sequel is set in the 1980s, after the first film but before Justice League. Wonder Woman has to deal with Pedro Pascal's Trump-esque Maxwell Lord and Kristen Wiig's super-powered Cheetah.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released on Christmas Day in the US on HBO Max, and in UK cinemas on December 16.
